• This handmade lapel pin from London's Codis Maya depicts the Pine Cone, which has been a symbol of enlightenment dating back to ancient Egyptian times. The Pine Cone is the evolutionary precursor to the flower, and its spines spiral in a perfect Fibonacci sequence in either direction, much like the sacred geometry of a rose or sunflower. The pin is crafted from a vitreous enamel copper alloy stamping with a gold plated fitting. Measuring 1cm in diameter, this pin is a tasteful detail to add to the lapel of your jacket.

    • Roshini Aluwihare, a graduate from the Sir John Cass School of Art in London, started Codis Maya in 1986. The name derives from the Mayan Indians who worshipped precious metals. Over the last 30 years Codis Maya has produced exclusive collections for luxury houses such as Dunhill, Lanvin and Asprey. Today they still use traditional methods and processes, like hand carved dies, to produce their refined men's accessories in the UK.
