This nautical style shirt is crafted from a unique cotton poplin with a slightly waxy finish. It features alternating red and white stripes against a navy base. Small signal flags, life rings, ships wheels and anchors are intermittently mixed into the stripes making for an interesting design. It features Gitman's classic three inch button down collar and a pocket at the left chest.

There’s a nondescript factory in Ashland, PA that is home to one of America’s last great shirting companies. Gitman Bros. traces it's lineage back to 1930s Brooklyn where founder, Max Gitman, under pressure from union rackets, relocated his company to Pennsylvania's coal country. Gitman trained miner's wives in the craft of traditional shirt making. Today, much of the company’s workforce are descendants of the first generation of workers trained by Max Gitman.
